Our Mission

  • To advocate for the restoration of Beach Birthright to the Jamaican people.

  • The promotion of environmental beach personhood and conservation of our beaches for future generations.

Objectives

  • To advocate for Jamaicans to have guaranteed universal rights and unfettered access to all beaches and the sea in Jamaica (Beach Birthright) through an amendment of the Jamaican constitution.                                               a. This is to mitigate corporate infringement and robbery through the creation of exclusive economic zones that damages the beach environment and harm the human spirit to access leisure, relaxation, spiritual awakening, meditative therapy, traditional baptisms and the evolution of sustainable fishing and marine entrepreneurship.                                                                                                                                                                  b. Reclamation of the public’s right to the beach is the first step in a more just and sustainable coastal environmental policy.

  • Promotion of environmental personhood to Beach, selected rivers and important land formations to protect nature for future generations and to safeguard the intrinsic value of nature by recognizing them as living entities.                                                                                                                                                                                  a. The gravity of the environmental destruction (inclusive of beach and land) and their necessities to our survival is now being realized to a greater extent. We should advance their status and protect them by having the public understand the need for modern laws to protect nature.

  • Promote the creation of a national volunteering youth core for beach and environmental preservation through education and service.                                                                                                                                                            a. This is to enhance awareness and cultural identity around the beach and environment to foster environmental ownership in the Jamaican people which can change behaviors towards the preservation of nature and life.
